Protecting your personal information is important to us. This notice explains our online information collection practices, and applies to all information collected or submitted through our CIRI Alaska Tourism websites. These sites include CIRI Alaska Tourism, Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, Kenai Fjords Tours, Seward Windsong Lodge, Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge, and Alaska Heritage Tours. By using any of our websites, you consent to this privacy policy.

The Information We Collect From You

On some of our websites, you can purchase lodging, tours, or other travel products, request information and materials or sign up for newsletters. To process your requests, we may require that you provide certain personal information such as your name, billing and mailing addresses, email address, phone number, credit card information, age, personal information about others in your party and other information. We may also ask for optional information such as your recreational interests and other information. You are not obligated to provide optional information.

Automatic Information Collection

We use a variety of methods to collect anonymous, aggregated information from visitors to our websites. This type of information is not linked to personally identifiable information and is used in the aggregate to generate statistical reports about the use of our websites.

  1. “AddThis” Service
Some of our website pages feature “Share This” links to facilitate travel planning with family and friends. This feature relies on the AddThis service. AddThis collects anonymous, non-personally identifying information from site visitors and may log information about your visit to a cookie for advertising purposes. For example, after you visit Kenai Fjords Tours, another site in the AddThis network might display an advertisement specific to Alaskan travel, or whale watching, because the cookie would indicate you had recently shown an interest in them through visiting our site. For more information about AddThis’ policies, see the AddThis Privacy Policy. You can learn more about behavioral advertising practices, and opt out of them, at www.networkadvertising.org.
  2. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to log and analyze how visitors interact with our websites. This may include what link, search term, or ad led to our websites; the links clicked within our websites and the times they were clicked; the version of web browser and operating system being used; the IP address assigned to the computer and other similar information. Google Analytics data helps us to know how many people visit our websites, where visitors come from and how they may have found us. We use Google Analytics to learn how our visitors are using our websites and how we can improve them. The analytics are anonymous and aggregated. You can read more about the information that Google Analytics collects on their privacy and data sharing page, which is guided by Google’s overall privacy policy.
  3. Other Services
Occasionally we may use other applications or tools such as surveys, heat mapping software, and other services to better understand a website visitor’s browsing experience. In these instances, we will always strive to ensure that the visitor data is aggregated and cannot be directly associated with you without your express consent.
  4. Blocking Cookies
These services—and virtually every website you visit— set cookies in your browser so that you are identifiable to them. You may choose to delete or reject these cookies without impacting your ability to read about and purchase products and services from us, though the experience may be somewhat diminished. If you are blocking cookies and have a problem using our site, please contact one of our sales representatives to assist you.

The Way We Use and Share Information

The information we gather enables us to provide you with our products and services and to help administer your orders. We may also use your information to (i) enhance and personalize our communications and your experience on our websites, (ii) operate, improve and maintain our products and services, including analyzing user behavior, and (iii) communicate with you about your purchases, account information and customer service issues. When necessary, we will use or share your information with our trusted service providers and in other situations as described below:

  1. Service Providers
For information gathered during the purchase process, we retain the data necessary to complete the transaction and deliver the product or service to you. Some package tours include transportation and lodging from other providers, and we will share your information with them. Your information may also be shared with other trusted service providers that handle information analysis, providing marketing assistance, processing credit card payments and billing, tour and travel operations, providing customer service and administering other services.
  2. Newsletters and Communication
If you sign up for one or more of our newsletters, the information you provide is added to our mailing list, and used to send you occasional special offers and announcements. You may ask to be removed from the mailing list at any time—every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. However, we may still send you service-related and administrative communications (e.g. order status). You may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature. We reserve the right to contact you as a customer up to a year after your purchase or stay.
  3. Business Transitions
If we go through a business transition (such as a merger, acquisition or a sale of a portion of our assets), user information may be part of the assets transferred, subject to this privacy policy.
  4. By Law
We will disclose personal information when required by law, or if we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on us.
  5. Third Parties
We do not share your information with any third parties, except in connection with the use and administration of our products and services through our websites and as otherwise stated in this privacy policy. We do not sell any of your information to others.

Our Commitment To Children’s Privacy

We comply with the requirements of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. We do not knowingly collect or maintain personally identifiable information from children under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13.

How You Can Access Or Correct Your Information

If you believe that we have factually incorrect information about you, you can correct it by sending us a request that credibly shows the error(s). To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.

We take commercially reasonable precautions to protect your information, including encryption and authentication tools. When you place an order, we use a secure server. All credit card information is transmitted via SSL technology. Regardless of these efforts, we cannot 100% guarantee the security of your information given the nature of the Internet and the fact that network security measures are not infallible. You acknowledge that you provide your personal information at your own risk. In the event that your personal information is compromised as a result of a security breach, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

We may modify this privacy policy at any time, effective upon its posting. Your continued use of our websites and services constitutes your acceptance to this privacy policy and any updates. We will make an effort to alert you when changes are made to the privacy policy by posting a temporary notice on our website and/or by emailing a notice to you.
