Remote Destination Fee

As stewards of experiences within the heart of Denali National Park and explorers of the wildlife and glaciers of Kenai Fjords National Park, we feel fortunate to keep the spirit of these iconic places alive. To continue welcoming our guests and staff to share unforgettable and inspiring experiences throughout Alaska, we apply a small fee at our remote destinations. We work hard to maintain and preserve the unique dignity and character of these experiences, and your visit honors this work. Thank you for helping us share these important and iconic pieces of Alaska.

The 3.5% remote destination fee is charged on all goods and services (excluding alcohol) at many of our remote properties around Alaska.

Giving Back to our Communities

Effective from May 10, 2023, Pursuit’s Alaska Collection is proud to offer guests an opportunity to support our local remote communities.

The entirety of your donation goes to the organization specified above. You can opt out by calling Reservations or inquiring with Front Desk at check out.

Travel Insurance

Life is full of uncertainties. Our remote locations and Alaska’s extremely short travel season make travel insurance a necessity.

The Alaska Collection strongly recommends purchasing travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances that may interrupt your travel plans.

Baggage

To ensure you have an enjoyable trip, we suggest traveling light and with soft luggage. Although there is no limit for most hotels, Denali Backcountry Lodge and Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge enforce a luggage limit of one soft-sided bag (35lbs max) and one carry-on per person. Storage for lodge guests with excess bags is available at Denali Cabins and Kenai Fjords Tours at no charge. For other facilities, tours or activities, please check with our travel experts.

Porterage: There is a $10 per person luggage handling fee that will be added to all Denali Cabins, Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, and Seward Windsong Lodge reservations arriving or departing via Alaska Railroad or on any reservation consisting of 5 or more rooms. You may opt in or out of this service at any point.
